SAN PEDRO MÁRTIR NATIONAL PARK

SPM

After voyaging through a road in which we can observe how all vegetation, climate and fauna change constantly, from a light coastal breeze, a hot valley and a dry desert, to the snow and in pine covered mountaintop of the San Pedro Mártir National Park you'll be able to feel this unique experience in which we can be marveled indeed after observing mountain lions, condors, the famous desert bighorn sheep, coyotes and eagles that inhabit the San Pedro Mártir national park and its more than 160,619 acres of land.

This natural area houses the national astrological observatory of the Universidad Autónoma de Mexico and is home to the rich flora and fauna of the Baja with pine, silver fir, cypress and aspen trees that serve as a paradise for a very large species of animals.  The rain and the ice thawing of its mountains nurture the edge of the Baja California streams;  it’s valleys –del Diablo, La Providencia and Toledo- refresh many water wells and cascades that are home to many ancient and undiscovered mural paintings.

The San Pedro Mártir national forest mountain peaks –the highest ones in the peninsula- offer the most spectacular views that go from the pacific ocean to the sea of Cortez.
