BAJA CALIFORNIA

Baja California has many tourist destinations for all tastes and budgets.  This state is adorned by the most beautiful landscapes that range from the deserts to sea, combining modern cosmopolitan cities with its ancient missions and cave paintings.

BAHIAS DE SAN QUINTIN

The San Quintin bays are a group of bays that run parallel to the transpeninsular highway leading to San Quintin. Located within Ensenada’s territorial limits, these bays run from the town of Colonet down to San Quintin and its own three interconnected bays, 119mi.  from the city of Ensenada and 187mi. south of the San Ysidro international border.  With its great climate and great biodiversity, these bays have been very important for human activities for thousands of years.  The Mision de Santo Domingo, founded in 1775 by the Dominican order, and ancient seashells along its beaches are the oldest traces of human presence in this region.  At the end of the 1800’s, English families settled in these lands and left evidence of their passing in the area known as “Muelle Viejo” (the old dock).  These houses, the cemetery and other constructions have become an important tourist attraction in this area.

San Quintin

The San Quintin bays are great tourist destinations that offer nature and outdoor lovers an excellent experience, where you can practice activities such as ecoturism, sports fishing and hunting among other activities. This area is a natural rest and breading refuge for thousands of birds that migrate from North America, that year after year, like clockwork, fly this path known as The pacific bird migration corridor.  It’s incredible to observe many species of birds such as seagulls, ducks, geese, and pelicans among other interesting species fulfill their journey.
