ANALYSIS OF THE TOURIST SPACE
Next an analysis is presented regarding the tourist space that, with the purpose or graphically located the main zones, sites and tourist attractions that because of the conditions of its infrastructure receive visitors; importance of its attractions and the possibility of satisfying specific segments of the market, are all considered priorities or the tourist development of the state. The most important tourist sites that the state of Baja California has are classified according to the following general parameters:
Distribution Centers

The destinations that can be considered distribution centers because of their installed capacity are located to the northern part of the state.

Tijuana is the center for economic, social and tourist activity, and because of this it should receive priority attention as far as fortifying its tourism not only because of its capacity to receive specific segments, but also because of its importance for tourism development in the state.

Ensenada works as an alternate distribution center because of its closeness to Tijuana's airport, the cruise ship terminal and because of its capacity to host travelers.

Mexicali, the state's capital, functions as a priority distribution center for tourism development in the eastern zone of the state.
Lodging Centers

They have a large capacity for lodging.

They have access from the distribution centers and to other important sites within the region.

They provide urban and tourist services.
These sites and essential for tourism development in Baja California, because of its capability to receive visitors from specific segments as well as its importance to access less developed sites and integrate circuits. However that, as in the case of distribution centers, they are concentrated to the north of the state.
