ECONOMIC INFORMATION
INTRODUCTION
Baja California is the state that has first place nationally as far as attracting investments goes (Center for Strategic Studies at ITESM, 1997).
It is a young, strong and dynamic state, with a urban, tourism and industrial infrastructure, countless natural resources and well as highly qualified human resources which transform it into a pole of development and a platform for exporting for many companies both national and foreign.
Baja California borders to the north with the states of California and Arizona, to the northeast with the state of Sonora and to the east with the Sea of Cortes, to the west with the Pacific Ocean and to the south with the State of Baja California Sur.
Tourism is a sector that occupies a significant place in the state's economy. Its tourism infrastructure, the quality of service it delivers to the tourists, its geographical position to the northeast of Mexico and the advantage granted by commercial agreements set by many countries of the American continent gives it a strategic place so that it may receive important investments for tourism development.
