CURRENT OFFER
The state's tourist offer in very wide, even if it basically focuses on beaches and border areas, concentrating, in the first place, along the Tijuana-Ensenada corridor and with least attention put into the Mexicali area and the San Felipe-Puentecitos and Tecate corridor.
Hotel Offer
The total number of hotel rooms registered in 2005 was 20,463 of which Tijuana has 48.33%, Ensenada has 16.08%, Mexicali 15.72%, Rosarito 12%, San Felipe 3.41%, Tecate 3.23% and the rest is distributed throughout the state.
32.5% of all hotel rooms in Baja California have a 4 and 5 star rating, 42.1% has a 3 and 1 star rating and the rest are considered in another category. They all are distributed as follows:
Tourist Services
As far as other tourist services is concerned, Baja California has 391 restaurants, 133 bars, 149 travel agencies, 36 lenders, 6 golf courses, 56 resorts and 4 marinas with space for 595 boats and ships, concentrated also in the North and northeastern zone of the state:
Also the state has two corridors with an important offer consisting of tourist properties: the Pacific Coast and the Coast of the Gulf of California, from San Felipe to Puertecitos.
In both corridors there are a variety of marinas, properties, real estate developments, etc., that since the 70's have given value to this type of offer in the tourist market in the states that neighbor with the United States of America.
