PUERTO NUEVO STYLE LOBSTER

LobsterIt has been more than fifty years since this recipe’s tradition started to develop. It was during the fifties when due to the initiative of a fishermen group, it attracted the tourists for fishing trips departing from the small village. Upon returning from fishing, the wives cordially invited the visitors to take a seat and enjoy the most common dish among the fishermen of that zone: abundant and delicious lobster from this small village coast, served according to local custom, with beans, rice and flour tortillas. “Puerto Nuevo” lobster became more popular within a short period of time, in such way that new tourists arrive in a daily basis with the only purpose of tasting the famous and exquisite the “Puerto Nuevo” Style Lobster.

Currently, “Puerto Nuevo” is a restaurant-oriented community, with more than 30 establishments, located at 50 km [30 mi.] south of the city of Tijuana , from highway No. 1 (Transpeninsular) or by the scenic road to Ensenada , exiting where the signal indicates the village, at a distance of 45 minutes approximately.
