Located to the Northwest of Mexico, Baja California covers an extension of 71,777.589 km2. North borders with the United States, to the Northeast by Sonora, sea Cortés in the East and the West by the Pacific Ocean.
Bordering south with our neighbor state Baja California Sur, with which it shares the peninsula of Baja California, one of the largest in the world.
The State whose capital is Mexicali, is divided into five municipalities: Mexicali, Tijuana, Ensenada, beaches of Rosarito and Tecate. According to the 2010 census, the population totaled 3, 155, 070 inhabitants. Land of steep mountain ranges and coastal valleys from North to South, the center of the State is crossed by mountain ranges, the highest point being el Monte Picacho del Diablo (3,095 m).
