Nestled between Mexico and the State of California, USA, Tijuana is a progressive and recognized city due to having the most traveled border crossing in the world. Upon first arriving to the downtown district of Tijuana you must begin on Revolution Avenue, the most emblematic street of all. Seeing the intense commercial life, it’s easy to imagine the history of casinos, cantinas and dance halls that propelled the growth of the city during the first quarter of the 20th century. One possible saying of its origin is that the word Tijuana comes from the Yuman term, "ti-wan", which means "near the sea".
